Leviticus 24:10-23

NRS 10 A man whose mother was an Israelite and whose father was an Egyptian came out among the people of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a certain Israelite began fighting in the camp. NIV 10 Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite. NRS 11 The Israelite woman's son blasphemed the Name in a curse. And they brought him to Moses—now his mother's name was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan— NIV 11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.) NRS 12 and they put him in custody, until the decision of the Lord should be made clear to them. NIV 12 They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them. NRS 13 The Lord said to Moses, saying: NIV 13 Then the LORD said to Moses: NRS 14 Take the blasphemer outside the camp; and let all who were within hearing lay their hands on his head, and let the whole congregation stone him. NIV 14 "Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him. NRS 15 And speak to the people of Israel, saying: Anyone who curses God shall bear the sin. NIV 15 Say to the Israelites: 'If anyone curses his God, he will be held responsible; NRS 16 One who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone the blasphemer. Aliens as well as citizens, when they blaspheme the Name, shall be put to death. NIV 16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. The entire assembly must stone him. Whether an alien or native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, he must be put to death. NRS 17 Anyone who kills a human being shall be put to death. NIV 17 " 'If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death. NRS 18 Anyone who kills an animal shall make restitution for it, life for life. NIV 18 Anyone who takes the life of someone's animal must make restitution--life for life. NRS 19 Anyone who maims another shall suffer the same injury in return: NIV 19 If anyone injures his neighbor, whatever he has done must be done to him: NRS 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; the injury inflicted is the injury to be suffered. NIV 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As he has injured the other, so he is to be injured. NRS 21 One who kills an animal shall make restitution for it; but one who kills a human being shall be put to death. NIV 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a man must be put to death. NRS 22 You shall have one law for the alien and for the citizen: for I am the Lord your God. NIV 22 You are to have the same law for the alien and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.' " NRS 23 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel; and they took the blasphemer outside the camp, and stoned him to death. The people of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 23 Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.
