NIV 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As he has injured the other, so he is to be injured. RSV 21 He who kills a beast shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death. NIV 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a man must be put to death. RSV 22 You shall have one law for the sojourner and for the native; for I am the LORD your God." NIV 22 You are to have the same law for the alien and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.' " RSV 23 So Moses spoke to the people of Israel; and they brought him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
