1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 If a person commits a sin, a trespass against the LORD, and denies unto his neighbour that which was delivered unto him to keep or left in his hand, or in a thing stolen, or has slandered his neighbour;

3 or has found that which was lost and <em>then</em> denies it and swears falsely, in any of all these in which a man can sin,

4 then it shall be that because he has sinned and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he stole, or for the damage of the slander, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,

5 or all that about which he has sworn falsely, he shall even restore it in the principal and shall add the fifth part more to it, for the one to whom it belongs, and he shall pay in the day of his guiltiness.

6 And he shall bring for <em>the expiation of</em> his guilt unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flock, in thy estimation, for his guilt, unto the priest;

7 and the priest shall reconcile him before the LORD, and he shall have forgiveness for any of all of the things in which he is guilty.

8 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering (it <em>is</em> the burnt offering because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it):

10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen underwear shall he put upon his flesh, and when the fire has consumed the burnt offering, he shall take up <em>the ashes with the burnt</em> fat on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

11 Then he shall put off his garments and put on other garments and carry forth the <em>ashes with the burnt</em> fat outside the camp unto a clean place.

12 And the fire burning upon the altar shall not be put out, but the priest shall put wood on it every morning and lay the burnt offering in order upon it, and he shall burn upon it the fat of the peace.

13 The fire shall burn continuously upon the altar; it shall not be put out.

14 And this <em>is</em> the law of the present: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, before the altar.

15 And he shall take of it a handful of the flour of the present and of the oil thereof and all the frankincense which <em>is</em> upon the present and shall incense <em>it</em> upon the altar in an aroma of rest unto the LORD for a memorial.

16 And the remainder thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat; without leaven it shall be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the tabernacle of the testimony they shall eat it.

17 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it <em>unto them for</em> their portion of my offerings on fire; it is most holy, as is the <em>atonement for</em> sin and the <em>expiation of</em> guilt.

18 All the males among the sons of Aaron shall eat of it. <em>It shall be</em> a perpetual statute in your generations concerning the offerings on fire of the LORD; every thing that touches them shall be sanctified.

19 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

20 This <em>shall</em> be the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when they shall be anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a perpetual present, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.

21 In a pan it shall be made with oil; <em>and when it is</em> fried, thou shalt bring it in; <em>and</em> the cooked pieces of the present shalt thou offer in a very acceptable aroma unto the LORD.

22 And the priest of his sons that is anointed in his stead shall offer it; <em>it is</em> a perpetual statute unto the LORD; it shall be completely burnt.

23 And every present of a priest shall be completely burnt; it shall not be eaten.

24 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

25 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This <em>shall be</em> the law of sin: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the <em>atonement as</em> sin be killed before the LORD; for it <em>is</em> most holy.

26 The priest that offers it for the sin shall eat it; in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the testimony.

27 Whatever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be sanctified; and when some of the blood thereof is sprinkled upon any garment, thou shalt wash whatever it was sprinkled on in the holy place.

28 But the earthen vessel wherein it is cooked shall be broken; and if it is cooked in a brazen pot, it shall be both scoured and rinsed in water.

29 All the males among the priests shall eat of it; it is most holy.

30 And no <em>atonement as sin</em>, of which <em>any</em> of the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the testimony to reconcile in the sanctuary, shall be eaten; it shall be burnt in the fire.

New International Version NIV

1 The LORD said to Moses:

2 “If anyone sins and is unfaithful to the LORD by deceiving a neighbor about something entrusted to them or left in their care or about something stolen, or if they cheat their neighbor,

3 or if they find lost property and lie about it, or if they swear falsely about any such sin that people may commit—

4 when they sin in any of these ways and realize their guilt, they must return what they have stolen or taken by extortion, or what was entrusted to them, or the lost property they found,

5 or whatever it was they swore falsely about. They must make restitution in full, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the owner on the day they present their guilt offering.

6 And as a penalty they must bring to the priest, that is, to the LORD, their guilt offering, a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value.

7 In this way the priest will make atonement for them before the LORD, and they will be forgiven for any of the things they did that made them guilty.”

8 The LORD said to Moses:

9 “Give Aaron and his sons this command: ‘These are the regulations for the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to remain on the altar hearth throughout the night, till morning, and the fire must be kept burning on the altar.

10 The priest shall then put on his linen clothes, with linen undergarments next to his body, and shall remove the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar and place them beside the altar.

11 Then he is to take off these clothes and put on others, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a place that is ceremonially clean.

12 The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it.

13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.

14 “ ‘These are the regulations for the grain offering: Aaron’s sons are to bring it before the LORD, in front of the altar.

15 The priest is to take a handful of the finest flour and some olive oil, together with all the incense on the grain offering, and burn the memorial portion on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the LORD.

16 Aaron and his sons shall eat the rest of it, but it is to be eaten without yeast in the sanctuary area; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.

17 It must not be baked with yeast; I have given it as their share of the food offerings presented to me. Like the sin offering and the guilt offering, it is most holy.

18 Any male descendant of Aaron may eat it. For all generations to come it is his perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the LORD. Whatever touches them will become holy. ’ ”

19 The LORD also said to Moses,

20 “This is the offering Aaron and his sons are to bring to the LORD on the day he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.

21 It must be prepared with oil on a griddle; bring it well-mixed and present the grain offering broken in pieces as an aroma pleasing to the LORD.

22 The son who is to succeed him as anointed priest shall prepare it. It is the LORD’s perpetual share and is to be burned completely.

23 Every grain offering of a priest shall be burned completely; it must not be eaten.”

24 The LORD said to Moses,

25 “Say to Aaron and his sons: ‘These are the regulations for the sin offering: The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the LORD in the place the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy.

26 The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area, in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.

27 Whatever touches any of the flesh will become holy, and if any of the blood is spattered on a garment, you must wash it in the sanctuary area.

28 The clay pot the meat is cooked in must be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze pot, the pot is to be scoured and rinsed with water.

29 Any male in a priest’s family may eat it; it is most holy.

30 But any sin offering whose blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the Holy Place must not be eaten; it must be burned up.
