Leviticus 7

NRS 1 This is the ritual of the guilt offering. It is most holy; NIV 1 " 'These are the regulations for the guilt offering, which is most holy: NRS 2 at the spot where the burnt offering is slaughtered, they shall slaughter the guilt offering, and its blood shall be dashed against all sides of the altar. NIV 2 The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be sprinkled against the altar on all sides. NRS 3 All its fat shall be offered: the broad tail, the fat that covers the entrails, NIV 3 All its fat shall be offered: the fat tail and the fat that covers the inner parts, NRS 4 the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the appendage of the liver, which shall be removed with the kidneys. NIV 4 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the covering of the liver, which is to be removed with the kidneys. NRS 5 The priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar as an offering by fire to the Lord; it is a guilt offering. NIV 5 The priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made to the LORD by fire. It is a guilt offering. NRS 6 Every male among the priests shall eat of it; it shall be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy. NIV 6 Any male in a priest's family may eat it, but it must be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy. NRS 7 The guilt offering is like the sin offering, there is the same ritual for them; the priest who makes atonement with it shall have it. NIV 7 " 'The same law applies to both the sin offering and the guilt offering: They belong to the priest who makes atonement with them. NRS 8 So, too, the priest who offers anyone's burnt offering shall keep the skin of the burnt offering that he has offered. NIV 8 The priest who offers a burnt offering for anyone may keep its hide for himself. NRS 9 And every grain offering baked in the oven, and all that is prepared in a pan or on a griddle, shall belong to the priest who offers it. NIV 9 Every grain offering baked in an oven or cooked in a pan or on a griddle belongs to the priest who offers it, NRS 10 But every other grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron equally. NIV 10 and every grain offering, whether mixed with oil or dry, belongs equally to all the sons of Aaron. NRS 11 This is the ritual of the sacrifice of the offering of well-being that one may offer to the Lord. NIV 11 " 'These are the regulations for the fellowship offering a person may present to the LORD: NRS 12 If you offer it for thanksgiving, you shall offer with the thank offering unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of choice flour well soaked in oil. NIV 12 " 'If he offers it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering he is to offer cakes of bread made without yeast and mixed with oil, wafers made without yeast and spread with oil, and cakes of fine flour well-kneaded and mixed with oil. NRS 13 With your thanksgiving sacrifice of well-being you shall bring your offering with cakes of leavened bread. NIV 13 Along with his fellowship offering of thanksgiving he is to present an offering with cakes of bread made with yeast. NRS 14 From this you shall offer one cake from each offering, as a gift to the Lord; it shall belong to the priest who dashes the blood of the offering of well-being. NIV 14 He is to bring one of each kind as an offering, a contribution to the LORD; it belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the fellowship offerings. NRS 15 And the flesh of your thanksgiving sacrifice of well-being shall be eaten on the day it is offered; you shall not leave any of it until morning. NIV 15 The meat of his fellowship offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day it is offered; he must leave none of it till morning. NRS 16 But if the sacrifice you offer is a votive offering or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that you offer your sacrifice, and what is left of it shall be eaten the next day; NIV 16 " 'If, however, his offering is the result of a vow or is a freewill offering, the sacrifice shall be eaten on the day he offers it, but anything left over may be eaten on the next day. NRS 17 but what is left of the flesh of the sacrifice shall be burned up on the third day. NIV 17 Any meat of the sacrifice left over till the third day must be burned up. NRS 18 If any of the flesh of your sacrifice of well-being is eaten on the third day, it shall not be acceptable, nor shall it be credited to the one who offers it; it shall be an abomination, and the one who eats of it shall incur guilt. NIV 18 If any meat of the fellowship offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who offered it, for it is impure; the person who eats any of it will be held responsible. NRS 19 Flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burned up. As for other flesh, all who are clean may eat such flesh. NIV 19 " 'Meat that touches anything ceremonially unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned up. As for other meat, anyone ceremonially clean may eat it. NRS 20 But those who eat flesh from the Lord's sacrifice of well-being while in a state of uncleanness shall be cut off from their kin. NIV 20 But if anyone who is unclean eats any meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people. NRS 21 When any one of you touches any unclean thing—human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean creature—and then eats flesh from the Lord's sacrifice of well-being, you shall be cut off from your kin. NIV 21 If anyone touches something unclean--whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean, detestable thing--and then eats any of the meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.' " NRS 22 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: NIV 22 The LORD said to Moses, NRS 23 Speak to the people of Israel, saying: You shall eat no fat of ox or sheep or goat. NIV 23 "Say to the Israelites: 'Do not eat any of the fat of cattle, sheep or goats. NRS 24 The fat of an animal that died or was torn by wild animals may be put to any other use, but you must not eat it. NIV 24 The fat of an animal found dead or torn by wild animals may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it. NRS 25 If any one of you eats the fat from an animal of which an offering by fire may be made to the Lord, you who eat it shall be cut off from your kin. NIV 25 Anyone who eats the fat of an animal from which an offering by fire may be made to the LORD must be cut off from his people. NRS 26 You must not eat any blood whatever, either of bird or of animal, in any of your settlements. NIV 26 And wherever you live, you must not eat the blood of any bird or animal. NRS 27 Any one of you who eats any blood shall be cut off from your kin. NIV 27 If anyone eats blood, that person must be cut off from his people.' " NRS 28 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: NIV 28 The LORD said to Moses, NRS 29 Speak to the people of Israel, saying: Any one of you who would offer to the Lord your sacrifice of well-being must yourself bring to the Lord your offering from your sacrifice of well-being. NIV 29 "Say to the Israelites: 'Anyone who brings a fellowship offering to the LORD is to bring part of it as his sacrifice to the LORD. NRS 30 Your own hands shall bring the Lord's offering by fire; you shall bring the fat with the breast, so that the breast may be raised as an elevation offering before the Lord. NIV 30 With his own hands he is to bring the offering made to the LORD by fire; he is to bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast before the LORD as a wave offering. NRS 31 The priest shall turn the fat into smoke on the altar, but the breast shall belong to Aaron and his sons. NIV 31 The priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons. NRS 32 And the right thigh from your sacrifices of well-being you shall give to the priest as an offering; NIV 32 You are to give the right thigh of your fellowship offerings to the priest as a contribution. NRS 33 the one among the sons of Aaron who offers the blood and fat of the offering of well-being shall have the right thigh for a portion. NIV 33 The son of Aaron who offers the blood and the fat of the fellowship offering shall have the right thigh as his share. NRS 34 For I have taken the breast of the elevation offering, and the thigh that is offered, from the people of Israel, from their sacrifices of well-being, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons, as a perpetual due from the people of Israel. NIV 34 From the fellowship offerings of the Israelites, I have taken the breast that is waved and the thigh that is presented and have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as their regular share from the Israelites.' " NRS 35 This is the portion allotted to Aaron and to his sons from the offerings made by fire to the Lord, once they have been brought forward to serve the Lord as priests; NIV 35 This is the portion of the offerings made to the LORD by fire that were allotted to Aaron and his sons on the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests. NRS 36 these the Lord commanded to be given them, when he anointed them, as a perpetual due from the people of Israel throughout their generations. NIV 36 On the day they were anointed, the LORD commanded that the Israelites give this to them as their regular share for the generations to come. NRS 37 This is the ritual of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the offering of ordination, and the sacrifice of well-being, NIV 37 These, then, are the regulations for the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offering and the fellowship offering, NRS 38 which the Lord commanded Moses on Mount Sinai, when he commanded the people of Israel to bring their offerings to the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai. NIV 38 which the LORD gave Moses on Mount Sinai on the day he commanded the Israelites to bring their offerings to the LORD, in the Desert of Sinai.
