Luke 10:1-24

NAS 1 Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. NIV 1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. NAS 2 And He was saying to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. NIV 2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. NAS 3 "Go; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. NIV 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. NAS 4 "Carry no money belt, no bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way. NIV 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. NAS 5 "Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.' NIV 5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' NAS 6 "If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. NIV 6 If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. NAS 7 "Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. NIV 7 Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. NAS 8 "Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you; NIV 8 "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. NAS 9 and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' NIV 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.' NAS 10 "But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, NIV 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, NAS 11 'Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.' NIV 11 'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.' NAS 12 "I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city. NIV 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. NAS 13 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. NIV 13 "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. NAS 14 "But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. NIV 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. NAS 15 "And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades! NIV 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. NAS 16 "The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me." NIV 16 "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me." NAS 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord , even the demons are subject to us in Your name." NIV 17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." NAS 18 And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. NIV 18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. NAS 19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. NIV 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. NAS 20 "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven." NIV 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." NAS 21 At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. NIV 21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. NAS 22 "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." NIV 22 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." NAS 23 Turning to the disciples, He said privately , "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see, NIV 23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. NAS 24 for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and did not hear them." NIV 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."
