NAS 38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. NIV 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. NAS 39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord's feet, listening to His word. NIV 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. NAS 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, "Lord , do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me." NIV 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself ? Tell her to help me!" NAS 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; NIV 41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, NAS 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her." NIV 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
