Luke 12:28-38

RSV 28 But if God so clothes the grass which is alive in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O men of little faith! NIV 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! RSV 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be of anxious mind. NIV 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. RSV 30 For all the nations of the world seek these things; and your Father knows that you need them. NIV 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. RSV 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things shall be yours as well. NIV 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. RSV 32 "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. NIV 32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. RSV 33 Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. NIV 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. RSV 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. NIV 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. RSV 35 "Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning, NIV 35 "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, RSV 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the marriage feast, so that they may open to him at once when he comes and knocks. NIV 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. RSV 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes; truly, I say to you, he will gird himself and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them. NIV 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. RSV 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! NIV 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night.
