Luke 13:13-23

CEB 13 He placed his hands on her and she straightened up at once and praised God. NIV 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. CEB 14 The synagogue leader, incensed that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded, "There are six days during which work is permitted. Come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath day." NIV 14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, "There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath." CEB 15 The Lord replied, "Hypocrites! Don't each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from its stall and lead it out to get a drink? NIV 15 The Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? CEB 16 Then isn't it necessary that this woman, a daughter of Abraham, bound by Satan for eighteen long years, be set free from her bondage on the Sabbath day?" NIV 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?" CEB 17 When he said these things, all his opponents were put to shame, but all those in the crowd rejoiced at all the extraordinary things he was doing. NIV 17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing. CEB 18 Jesus asked, "What is God's kingdom like? To what can I compare it? NIV 18 Then Jesus asked, "What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? CEB 19 It's like a mustard seed that someone took and planted in a garden. It grew and developed into a tree and the birds in the sky nested in its branches." NIV 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches." CEB 20 Again he said, "To what can I compare God's kingdom? NIV 20 Again he asked, "What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? CEB 21 It's like yeast, which a woman took and hid in a bushel of wheat flour until the yeast had worked its way through the whole." NIV 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough." CEB 22 Jesus traveled through cities and villages, teaching and making his way to Jerusalem. NIV 22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. CEB 23 Someone said to him, "Lord, will only a few be saved?" Jesus said to them, NIV 23 Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them,
