Luke 14:12-24

ESV 12 He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. NIV 12 Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. ESV 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, NIV 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, ESV 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. NIV 20 "Still another said, 'I just got married, so I can't come.' ESV 21 So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.' NIV 21 "The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.' ESV 22 And the servant said, 'Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' NIV 22 " 'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.' ESV 23 And the master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled. NIV 23 "Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full. ESV 24 For I tell you,none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'" NIV 24 I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.' "
