NAS 1 He said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! NIV 1 Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. NAS 2 "It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble. NIV 2 It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. NAS 3 "Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. NIV 3 So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. NAS 4 "And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' forgive him." NIV 4 If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him." NAS 5 The apostles said to the Lord , "Increase our faith!" NIV 5 The apostles said to the LORD, "Increase our faith!" NAS 6 And the Lord said, "If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea '; and it would obey you. NIV 6 He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. NAS 7 "Which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come immediately and sit down to eat'? NIV 7 "Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'? NAS 8 "But will he not say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink '? NIV 8 Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'? NAS 9 "He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? NIV 9 Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? NAS 10 "So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.' " NIV 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.' " NAS 11 While He was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. NIV 11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. NAS 12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; NIV 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance NAS 13 and they raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" NIV 13 and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" NAS 14 When He saw them, He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were going, they were cleansed. NIV 14 When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed. NAS 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, NIV 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. NAS 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. NIV 16 He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan. NAS 17 Then Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine -where are they? NIV 17 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? NAS 18 "Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?" NIV 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" NAS 19 And He said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has made you well." NIV 19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well." NAS 20 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; NIV 20 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, NAS 21 nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst." NIV 21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." NAS 22 And He said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. NIV 22 Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. NAS 23 "They will say to you, 'Look there! Look here!' Do not go away, and do not run after them. NIV 23 Men will tell you, 'There he is!' or 'Here he is!' Do not go running off after them. NAS 24 "For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. NIV 24 For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. NAS 25 "But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. NIV 25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. NAS 26 "And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: NIV 26 "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. NAS 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. NIV 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. NAS 28 "It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; NIV 28 "It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. NAS 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. NIV 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. NAS 30 "It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. NIV 30 "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. NAS 31 "On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back . NIV 31 On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. NAS 32 "Remember Lot's wife. NIV 32 Remember Lot's wife! NAS 33 "Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. NIV 33 Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. NAS 34 "I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. NIV 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. NAS 35 "There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. NIV 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left. " NAS 36 ["Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left."] NAS 37 And answering they said to Him, "Where, Lord ?" And He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered." NIV 37 "Where, LORD?" they asked. He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather."
