RSV 1 And he said to his disciples, "Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come! NIV 1 Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. RSV 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. NIV 2 It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. RSV 3 Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him; NIV 3 So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. RSV 4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him." RSV 7 "Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down at table'? NIV 7 "Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'? RSV 8 Will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink'? NIV 8 Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'? RSV 9 Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? NIV 9 Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? RSV 10 So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'" NIV 21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." RSV 22 And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. NIV 22 Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. RSV 23 And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or 'Lo, here!' Do not go, do not follow them. NIV 23 Men will tell you, 'There he is!' or 'Here he is!' Do not go running off after them. RSV 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day.
