Luke 18:31-34

NRS 31 Then he took the twelve aside and said to them, "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. NIV 31 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. NRS 32 For he will be handed over to the Gentiles; and he will be mocked and insulted and spat upon. NIV 32 He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. NRS 33 After they have flogged him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise again." NIV 33 On the third day he will rise again." NRS 34 But they understood nothing about all these things; in fact, what he said was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said. NIV 34 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
