Luke 2

NAS 1 Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. NIV 1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. NAS 2 This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. NIV 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) NAS 3 And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city. NIV 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. NAS 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, NIV 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. NAS 15 When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us." NIV 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." NAS 16 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. NIV 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. NAS 17 When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child. NIV 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, NAS 18 And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds. NAS 49 And He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?" NIV 49 "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" NAS 50 But they did not understand the statement which He had made to them. NIV 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them. NAS 51 And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart. NIV 51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. NAS 52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. NIV 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
