Luke 6:1-6

WNT 1 Now on the second-first Sabbath while He was passing through the wheatfields, His disciples were plucking the ears and rubbing them with their hands to eat the grain. NIV 1 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels. WNT 2 And some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what the Law forbids on the Sabbath?" NIV 2 Some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?" WNT 3 "Have you never read so much as this," answered Jesus--"what David did when he and his followers were hungry; NIV 3 Jesus answered them, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? WNT 4 how he entered the house of God and took and ate the Presented Loaves and gave some to his followers--loaves which none but the Priests are allowed to eat?" NIV 4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions." WNT 5 "The Son of Man," He added, "is Lord of the Sabbath also." NIV 5 Then Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." WNT 6 On another Sabbath He had gone to the synagogue and was teaching there; and in the congregation was a man whose right arm was withered. NIV 6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.
