Luke 9:23-33

TMB 23 And He said to them all, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. NIV 23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. TMB 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it. NIV 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. TMB 25 For what is a man advantaged if he gain the whole world, and lose himself or be cast away? NIV 25 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self ? TMB 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of Man be ashamed when He shall come in His own glory and in His Father's and of the holy angels. NIV 26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. TMB 27 But I tell you in truth, there are some standing here that shall not taste of death till they see the Kingdom of God." NIV 27 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God." TMB 28 And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, He took Peter and John and James, and went up onto a mountain to pray. NIV 28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. TMB 29 And as He prayed, the appearance of His countenance was altered, and His raiment was white and glistening. NIV 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. TMB 30 And behold, there talked with Him two men, who were Moses and Elijah, NIV 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, TMB 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He should accomplish at Jerusalem. NIV 31 appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. TMB 32 But Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep. And when they were awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him. NIV 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. TMB 33 And it came to pass as they departed from Him, Peter said unto Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah" -- not knowing what he was saying. NIV 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.)
