Mark 15:41-47

NLT 41 They had been followers of Jesus and had cared for him while he was in Galilee. Then they and many other women had come with him to Jerusalem. NIV 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there. NLT 42 This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached, NIV 42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached, NLT 43 an honored member of the high council, Joseph from Arimathea (who was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come), gathered his courage and went to Pilate to ask for Jesus' body. NIV 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. NLT 44 Pilate couldn't believe that Jesus was already dead, so he called for the Roman military officer in charge and asked him. NIV 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. NLT 45 The officer confirmed the fact, and Pilate told Joseph he could have the body. NIV 45 When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. NLT 46 Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth, and taking Jesus' body down from the cross, he wrapped it in the cloth and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance. NIV 46 So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. NLT 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where Jesus' body was laid. NIV 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.
