Mark 16

YLT 1 And the sabbath having past, Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James, and Salome, bought spices, that having come, they may anoint him, NIV 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. YLT 2 and early in the morning of the first of the sabbaths, they come unto the sepulchre, at the rising of the sun, NIV 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb YLT 3 and they said among themselves, `Who shall roll away for us the stone out of the door of the sepulchre?' NIV 3 and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" YLT 4 And having looked, they see that the stone hath been rolled away -- for it was very great, NIV 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. YLT 5 and having entered into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right hand, arrayed in a long white robe, and they were amazed. NIV 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. YLT 6 And he saith to them, `Be not amazed, ye seek Jesus the Nazarene, the crucified: he did rise -- he is not here; lo, the place where they laid him! NIV 6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. YLT 7 and go, say to his disciples, and Peter, that he doth go before you to Galilee; there ye shall see him, as he said to you.' NIV 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " YLT 8 And, having come forth quickly, they fled from the sepulchre, and trembling and amazement had seized them, and to no one said they anything, for they were afraid. NIV 8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. YLT 9 And he, having risen in the morning of the first of the sabbaths, did appear first to Mary the Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons; NIV 9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. YLT 10 she having gone, told those who had been with him, mourning and weeping; NIV 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. YLT 11 and they, having heard that he is alive, and was seen by her, did not believe. NIV 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. YLT 12 And after these things, to two of them, as they are going into a field, walking, he was manifested in another form, NIV 12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. YLT 13 and they having gone, told to the rest; not even them did they believe. NIV 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. YLT 14 Afterwards, as they are reclining (at meat), he was manifested to the eleven, and did reproach their unbelief and stiffness of heart, because they believed not those having seen him being raised; NIV 14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. YLT 15 and he said to them, `Having gone to all the world, proclaim the good news to all the creation; NIV 15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. YLT 16 he who hath believed, and hath been baptized, shall be saved; and he who hath not believed, shall be condemned. NIV 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. YLT 17 `And signs shall accompany those believing these things; in my name demons they shall cast out; with new tongues they shall speak; NIV 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; YLT 18 serpents they shall take up; and if any deadly thing they may drink, it shall not hurt them; on the ailing they shall lay hands, and they shall be well.' NIV 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." YLT 19 The Lord, then, indeed, after speaking to them, was received up to the heaven, and sat on the right hand of God; NIV 19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. YLT 20 and they, having gone forth, did preach everywhere, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word, through the signs following. Amen. NIV 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
