Mark 5:36-43

NRS 36 But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, "Do not fear, only believe." NIV 36 Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe." NRS 37 He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. NIV 37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. NRS 38 When they came to the house of the leader of the synagogue, he saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. NIV 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. NRS 39 When he had entered, he said to them, "Why do you make a commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping." NIV 39 He went in and said to them, "Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep." NRS 40 And they laughed at him. Then he put them all outside, and took the child's father and mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was. NIV 40 But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. NRS 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha cum," which means, "Little girl, get up!" NIV 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, ""Talitha koum!"" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!"). NRS 42 And immediately the girl got up and began to walk about (she was twelve years of age). At this they were overcome with amazement. NIV 42 Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. NRS 43 He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat. NIV 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.
