WEB 22 While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men, NIV 22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. WEB 23 and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up." They were exceedingly sorry. NIV 23 They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life." And the disciples were filled with grief. WEB 24 When they were come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachmas came to Peter, and said, "Doesn't your teacher pay the didrachma?" NIV 24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax ?" WEB 25 He said, "Yes." When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their sons, or from strangers?" NIV 25 "Yes, he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. "What do you think, Simon?" he asked. "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes--from their own sons or from others?" WEB 26 Peter said to him, "From strangers." Jesus said to him, "Therefore the sons are exempt. NIV 26 "From others," Peter answered. "Then the sons are exempt," Jesus said to him.
