RSV 29 And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him. NIV 29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. RSV 30 And behold, two blind men sitting by the roadside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" NIV 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" RSV 31 The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent; but they cried out the more, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" RSV 32 And Jesus stopped and called them, saying, "What do you want me to do for you?" NIV 32 Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. RSV 33 They said to him, "Lord, let our eyes be opened." NIV 33 "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight." RSV 34 And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they received their sight and followed him. NIV 34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes.
