Matthew 21:1-11

CEB 1 When they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus gave two disciples a task. NRS 1 When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, CEB 2 He said to them, "Go into the village over there. As soon as you enter, you will find a donkey tied up and a colt with it. Untie them and bring them to me. NRS 2 saying to them, "Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. CEB 3 If anybody says anything to you, say that the Lord needs it." He sent them off right away. NRS 3 If anyone says anything to you, just say this, "The Lord needs them.' And he will send them immediately. " CEB 4 Now this happened to fulfill what the prophet said, NRS 4 This took place to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet, saying, CEB 5 Say to Daughter Zion, "Look, your king is coming to you, humble and riding on a donkey, and on a colt the donkey's offspring." NRS 5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, Look, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey." CEB 6 The disciples went and did just as Jesus had ordered them. NRS 6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; CEB 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and laid their clothes on them. Then he sat on them. CEB 10 And when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up. "Who is this?" they asked. NRS 10 When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?" CEB 11 The crowds answered, "It's the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee." NRS 11 The crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee."
