Matthew 28

YLT 1 And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre, NIV 1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. YLT 2 and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it, NIV 2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. YLT 3 and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow, NIV 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. YLT 4 and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men. NIV 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. YLT 5 And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek; NIV 5 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. YLT 6 he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying; NIV 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. YLT 7 and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.' NIV 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." YLT 8 And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples; NIV 8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. YLT 9 and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!' and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him. NIV 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. YLT 10 Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.' NIV 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." YLT 11 And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened, NIV 11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. YLT 12 and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers, NIV 12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, YLT 13 saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him -- we being asleep; NIV 13 telling them, "You are to say, 'His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.' YLT 14 and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.' NIV 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." YLT 15 And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day. NIV 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. YLT 16 And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them, NIV 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. YLT 17 and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver. NIV 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. YLT 18 And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth; NIV 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. YLT 19 having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them -- to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, NIV 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, YLT 20 teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days -- till the full end of the age.' NIV 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
