Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. CEB 16 In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven. CEB 17 “Don't even begin to think that I have come to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I haven't come to do away with them but to fulfill them. NIV 17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. CEB 18 I say to you very seriously that as long as heaven and earth exist, neither the smallest letter nor even the smallest stroke of a pen will be erased from the Law until everything there becomes a reality. NIV 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. NIV 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. CEB 36 And you must not pledge by your head, because you can't turn one hair white or black. NIV 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.
