KJV 17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great , according as thou hast spoken , saying , NIV 17 "Now may the Lord's strength be displayed, just as you have declared: KJV 18 The LORD is longsuffering , and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. NIV 18 'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.' KJV 19 Pardon , I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. NIV 19 In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now."
