CSB 1 The Lord instructed Moses: NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, CSB 2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land I am giving you to settle in, NIV 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'After you enter the land I am giving you as a home CSB 3 and you make a fire offering to the Lord from the herd or flock-either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow, or as a freewill offering, or at your appointed festivals-to produce a pleasing aroma for the Lord, NIV 3 and you present to the LORD offerings made by fire, from the herd or the flock, as an aroma pleasing to the LORD --whether burnt offerings or sacrifices, for special vows or freewill offerings or festival offerings-- CSB 4 the one presenting his offering to the Lord must also present a grain offering of two quarts of fine flour mixed with a quart of oil. NIV 4 then the one who brings his offering shall present to the LORD a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil. CSB 5 Prepare a quart of wine as a drink offering with the burnt offering or sacrifice of each lamb. NIV 5 With each lamb for the burnt offering or the sacrifice, prepare a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering. CSB 6 "If you prepare a grain offering with a ram, it must be four quarts of fine flour mixed with a third of a gallon of oil. NIV 6 " 'With a ram prepare a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil, CSB 7 Also present a third of a gallon of wine for a drink offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord. NIV 7 and a third of a hin of wine as a drink offering. Offer it as an aroma pleasing to the LORD. CSB 8 "If you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow, or as a fellowship offering to the Lord, NIV 8 " 'When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice, for a special vow or a fellowship offering to the LORD, CSB 9 a grain offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with two quarts of oil must be presented with the bull. NIV 9 bring with the bull a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil. CSB 10 Also present two quarts of wine as a drink offering. It is a fire offering of pleasing aroma to the Lord. NIV 10 Also bring half a hin of wine as a drink offering. It will be an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD. CSB 11 This is to be done for each ox, ram, lamb, or goat. NIV 11 Each bull or ram, each lamb or young goat, is to be prepared in this manner. CSB 12 This is how you must prepare each of them, no matter how many. NIV 12 Do this for each one, for as many as you prepare. CSB 13 "Every Israelite is to prepare these things in this way when he presents a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord. NIV 13 " 'Everyone who is native-born must do these things in this way when he brings an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD. CSB 14 When a foreigner resides with you or someone else is among you and wants to prepare a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, he is to do exactly as you do throughout your generations. NIV 14 For the generations to come, whenever an alien or anyone else living among you presents an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD, he must do exactly as you do. CSB 15 The assembly is to have the same statute for both you and the foreign resident as a permanent statute throughout your generations. You and the foreigner will be alike before the Lord. NIV 15 The community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD: CSB 16 The same law and the same ordinance will apply to both you and the foreigner who resides with you." NIV 16 The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the alien living among you.' " CSB 17 The Lord instructed Moses: NIV 17 The LORD said to Moses, CSB 18 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: After you enter the land where I am bringing you, NIV 18 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter the land to which I am taking you CSB 19 you are to offer a contribution to the Lord when you eat from the food of the land. NIV 19 and you eat the food of the land, present a portion as an offering to the LORD. CSB 20 You are to offer a loaf from your first batch of dough as a contribution; offer it just like a contribution from the threshing floor. NIV 20 Present a cake from the first of your ground meal and present it as an offering from the threshing floor. CSB 21 Throughout your generations, you are to give the Lord a contribution from the first batch of your dough. NIV 21 Throughout the generations to come you are to give this offering to the LORD from the first of your ground meal. CSB 22 "When you sin unintentionally and do not obey all these commands that the Lord spoke to Moses- NIV 22 " 'Now if you unintentionally fail to keep any of these commands the LORD gave Moses-- CSB 23 all that the Lord has commanded you through Moses, from the day the Lord issued the commands and onward throughout your generations- NIV 23 any of the LORD's commands to you through him, from the day the LORD gave them and continuing through the generations to come-- CSB 24 and if it was done unintentionally without the community's awareness, the entire community is to prepare one young bull for a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the regulation, and one male goat as a sin offering. NIV 24 and if this is done unintentionally without the community being aware of it, then the whole community is to offer a young bull for a burnt offering as an aroma pleasing to the LORD, along with its prescribed grain offering and drink offering, and a male goat for a sin offering. CSB 25 The priest must then make atonement for the entire Israelite community so that they may be forgiven, for the sin was unintentional. They are to bring their offering, one made by fire to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord for their unintentional sin. NIV 25 The priest is to make atonement for the whole Israelite community, and they will be forgiven, for it was not intentional and they have brought to the LORD for their wrong an offering made by fire and a sin offering. CSB 26 The entire Israelite community and the foreigner who resides among them will be forgiven, since it happened to all the people unintentionally. NIV 26 The whole Israelite community and the aliens living among them will be forgiven, because all the people were involved in the unintentional wrong. CSB 27 "If one person sins unintentionally, he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering. NIV 27 " 'But if just one person sins unintentionally, he must bring a year-old female goat for a sin offering. CSB 28 The priest must then make atonement before the Lord on behalf of the person who acts in error sinning unintentionally, and when he makes atonement for him, he will be forgiven. NIV 28 The priest is to make atonement before the LORD for the one who erred by sinning unintentionally, and when atonement has been made for him, he will be forgiven. CSB 29 You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or a foreigner who lives among you. NIV 29 One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether he is a native-born Israelite or an alien. CSB 30 "But the person who acts defiantly, whether native or foreign resident, blasphemes the Lord. That person is to be cut off from his people. NIV 30 " 'But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or alien, blasphemes the LORD, and that person must be cut off from his people. CSB 31 He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the Lord's word and broken His command; his guilt remains on him." NIV 31 Because he has despised the LORD's word and broken his commands, that person must surely be cut off; his guilt remains on him.' " CSB 32 While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. NIV 32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. CSB 33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community. NIV 33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, CSB 34 They placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him. NIV 34 and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. CSB 35 Then the Lord told Moses, "The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to stone him outside the camp." NIV 35 Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." CSB 36 So the entire community brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 36 So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses. CSB 37 The Lord said to Moses, NIV 37 The LORD said to Moses, CSB 38 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout their generations they are to make tassels for the corners of their garments, and put a blue cord on the tassel at [each] corner. NIV 38 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel. CSB 39 These will serve as tassels for you to look at, so that you may remember all the Lord's commands and obey them and not become unfaithful by following your own heart and your own eyes. NIV 39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by going after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. CSB 40 This way you will remember and obey all My commands and be holy to your God. NIV 40 Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God. CSB 41 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the Lord your God." NIV 41 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.' "
