RHE 1 These are the mansions of the children of Israel, who went out of Egypt by their troops under the conduct of Moses and Aaron, NIV 1 Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. RHE 2 Which Moses wrote down according to the places of their encamping, which they changed by the commandment of the Lord. NIV 2 At the LORD's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages: RHE 3 Now the children of Israel departed from Ramesses the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the phase, with a mighty hand, in the sight of all the Egyptians, NIV 3 The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out boldly in full view of all the Egyptians, RHE 4 Who were burying their firstborn, whom the Lord had slain (upon their gods also he had executed vengeance,) NIV 4 who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods. RHE 5 And they camped in Soccoth. NIV 5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth. RHE 6 And from Soccoth they came into Etham, which is in the uttermost borders of the wilderness. NIV 6 They left Succoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert. RHE 7 Departing from thence they came over against Phihahiroth, which looketh towards Beelsephon, and they camped before Magdalum. NIV 7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol. RHE 8 And departing from Phihahiroth, they passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and having marched three days through the desert of Etham, they camped in Mara. NIV 8 They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah. RHE 9 And departing from Mara, they came into Elim, where there were twelve fountains of waters, and seventy palm trees: and there they camped. NIV 9 They left Marah and went to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there. RHE 10 But departing from thence also, they pitched their tents by the Red Sea. And departing from the Red Sea, NIV 10 They left Elim and camped by the Red Sea. RHE 11 They camped in the desert of Sin. NIV 11 They left the Red Sea and camped in the Desert of Sin. RHE 12 And they removed from thence, and came to Daphca. NIV 12 They left the Desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah. RHE 13 And departing from Daphca, they camped in Alus. NIV 13 They left Dophkah and camped at Alush. RHE 14 And departing from Alus, they pitched their tents in Raphidim, where the people wanted water to drink. NIV 14 They left Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink. RHE 15 And departing from Raphidim, they camped in the desert of Sinai. NIV 15 They left Rephidim and camped in the Desert of Sinai. RHE 16 But departing also from the desert of Sinai, they came to the graves of lust. NIV 16 They left the Desert of Sinai and camped at Kibroth Hattaavah. RHE 17 And departing from the graves of lust, they camped in Haseroth. NIV 17 They left Kibroth Hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth. RHE 18 And from Haseroth they came to Rethma. NIV 18 They left Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah. RHE 19 And departing from Rethma, they camped in Remmomphares. NIV 19 They left Rithmah and camped at Rimmon Perez. RHE 20 And they departed from thence and came to Lebna. NIV 20 They left Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah. RHE 21 Removing from Lebna they camped in Ressa. NIV 21 They left Libnah and camped at Rissah. RHE 22 And departing from Ressa, they came to Ceelatha. NIV 22 They left Rissah and camped at Kehelathah. RHE 23 And they removed from thence and camped in the mountain Sepher. NIV 23 They left Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher. RHE 24 Departing from the mountain Sepher, they came to Arada, NIV 24 They left Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah. RHE 25 From thence they went and camped in Maceloth. NIV 25 They left Haradah and camped at Makheloth. RHE 26 And departing from Maceloth, they came to Thahath. NIV 26 They left Makheloth and camped at Tahath. RHE 27 Removing from Thahath they camped in Thare. NIV 27 They left Tahath and camped at Terah. RHE 28 And they departed from thence, and pitched their tents in Methca. NIV 28 They left Terah and camped at Mithcah. RHE 29 And removing from Methca, they camped in Hesmona. NIV 29 They left Mithcah and camped at Hashmonah. RHE 30 And departing from Hesmona, they came to Moseroth. NIV 30 They left Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth. RHE 31 And removing from Moseroth, they camped in Benejaacan. NIV 31 They left Moseroth and camped at Bene Jaakan. RHE 32 And departing from Benejaacan, they came to mount Gadgad. NIV 32 They left Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Haggidgad. RHE 33 From thence they went and camped in Jetebatha. NIV 33 They left Hor Haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah. RHE 34 And from Jetebatha they came to Hebrona. NIV 34 They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah. RHE 35 And departing from Hebrona, they camped in Asiongaber. NIV 35 They left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber. RHE 36 They removed from thence and came into the desert of Sin, which is Cades. NIV 36 They left Ezion Geber and camped at Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin. RHE 37 And departing from Cades, they camped in mount Hor, in the uttermost borders of the land of Edom. NIV 37 They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the border of Edom. RHE 38 And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the Lord: and there he died in the fortieth year of the coming forth of the children of Israel out of Egypt, the fifth month, the first day of the month, NIV 38 At the LORD's command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. RHE 39 When he was a hundred and twenty-three years old. NIV 39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor. RHE 40 And king Arad the Chanaanite, who dwelt towards the south, heard that the children of Israel were come to the land of Chanaan. NIV 40 The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming. RHE 41 And they departed from mount Hor, and camped in Salmona. NIV 41 They left Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah. RHE 42 From whence they removed and came to Phunon. NIV 42 They left Zalmonah and camped at Punon. RHE 43 And departing from Phunon, they camped in Oboth. NIV 43 They left Punon and camped at Oboth. RHE 44 And from Oboth they came to Ijeabarim, which is in the borders of the Moabites. NIV 44 They left Oboth and camped at Iye Abarim, on the border of Moab. RHE 45 And departing from Ijeabarim they pitched their tents in Dibongab. NIV 45 They left Iyim and camped at Dibon Gad. RHE 46 From thence they went and camped in Helmondeblathaim. NIV 46 They left Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim. RHE 47 And departing from Helmondeblathaim, they came to the mountains of Abarim over against Nabo. NIV 47 They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo. RHE 48 And departing from the mountains of Abarim, they passed to the plains of Moab, by the Jordan, over against Jericho. NIV 48 They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho. RHE 49 And there they camped from Bethsimoth even to Ablesatim in the plains of the Moabites, NIV 49 There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim. RHE 50 Where the Lord said to Moses: NIV 50 On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses, RHE 51 Command the children of Israel, and say to them: When you shall have passed over the Jordan, entering into the land of Chanaan, NIV 51 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, RHE 52 Destroy all the inhabitants of that land: Beat down their pillars, and break in pieces their statues, and waste all their high places, NIV 52 drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places. RHE 53 Cleansing the land, and dwelling in it. For I have given it you for a possession. NIV 53 Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. RHE 54 And you shall divide it among you by lot. To the more you shall give a larger part, and to the fewer a lesser. To every one as the lot shall fall, so shall the inheritance be given. The possession shall be divided by the tribes and the families. NIV 54 Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes. RHE 55 But if you will not kill the inhabitants of the land: they that remain, shall be unto you as nails in your eyes, and spears in your sides, and they shall be your adversaries in the land of your habitation. NIV 55 " 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live. RHE 56 And whatsoever I had thought to do to them, I will do to you. NIV 56 And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.' "
