Numbers 33

RSV 1 These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. NIV 1 Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. RSV 2 Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the LORD; and these are their stages according to their starting places. NIV 2 At the LORD's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages: RSV 3 They set out from Ram'eses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the passover the people of Israel went out triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians, NIV 3 The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out boldly in full view of all the Egyptians, RSV 4 while the Egyptians were burying all their first-born, whom the LORD had struck down among them; upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments. RSV 7 And they set out from Etham, and turned back to Pi-hahi'roth, which is east of Ba'al-ze'phon; and they encamped before Migdol. NIV 7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol. RSV 8 And they set out from before Hahi'roth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and they went a three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped at Marah. NIV 8 They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah. RSV 9 And they set out from Marah, and came to Elim; at Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there. NIV 16 They left the Desert of Sinai and camped at Kibroth Hattaavah. RSV 17 And they set out from Kib'roth-hatta'avah, and encamped at Haze'roth. NIV 26 They left Makheloth and camped at Tahath. RSV 27 And they set out from Tahath, and encamped at Terah. NIV 27 They left Tahath and camped at Terah. NIV 32 They left Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Haggidgad. RSV 33 And they set out from Hor-haggid'gad, and encamped at Jot'bathah. NIV 33 They left Hor Haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah. RSV 34 And they set out from Jot'bathah, and encamped at Abro'nah. NIV 34 They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah. RSV 35 And they set out from Abro'nah, and encamped at E'zion-ge'ber. NIV 35 They left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber. RSV 36 And they set out from E'zion-ge'ber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh). NIV 36 They left Ezion Geber and camped at Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin. RSV 37 And they set out from Kadesh, and encamped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom. NIV 37 They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the border of Edom. RSV 38 And Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at the command of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. RSV 47 And they set out from Al'mon-diblatha'im, and encamped in the mountains of Ab'arim, before Nebo. NIV 47 They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo. RSV 48 And they set out from the mountains of Ab'arim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho; NIV 48 They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho. RSV 49 they encamped by the Jordan from Beth-jes'himoth as far as Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab. NIV 49 There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim. RSV 50 And the LORD said to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, NIV 50 On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses, RSV 51 "Say to the people of Israel, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, NIV 51 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, RSV 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places; NIV 52 drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places. RSV 53 and you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. NIV 53 Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. RSV 54 You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance; wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. NIV 54 Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes. RSV 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. NIV 55 " 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live. RSV 56 And I will do to you as I thought to do to them." NIV 56 And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.' "
