WEB 1 These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron. NIV 1 Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. WEB 2 Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh: and these are their journeys according to their goings out. NIV 2 At the LORD's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages: WEB 3 They journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians, NIV 3 The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out boldly in full view of all the Egyptians, WEB 4 while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them: on their gods also Yahweh executed judgments. NIV 4 who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods. WEB 5 The children of Israel journeyed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth. NIV 5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth. WEB 6 They journeyed from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness. NIV 6 They left Succoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert. WEB 7 They journeyed from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they encamped before Migdol. NIV 7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol. WEB 8 They journeyed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah. NIV 8 They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah. WEB 9 They journeyed from Marah, and came to Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there. WEB 38 Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month. NIV 38 At the LORD's command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. WEB 50 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, NIV 50 On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses, WEB 51 Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, NIV 51 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, WEB 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured [stones], and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places: NIV 52 drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places. WEB 53 and you shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for to you have I given the land to possess it. NIV 53 Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. WEB 54 You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall you inherit. NIV 54 Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes. WEB 55 But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those who you let remain of them be as pricks in your eyes, and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land in which you dwell. NIV 55 " 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live. WEB 56 It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you. NIV 56 And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.' "
