Philippians 1:21-30

NAS 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. NIV 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. NAS 22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. NIV 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! NAS 23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; NIV 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; NAS 24 yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. NIV 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. NAS 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith, NIV 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, NAS 26 so that your proud confidence in me may abound in Christ Jesus through my coming to you again. NIV 26 so that through my being with you again your joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on account of me. NAS 27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; NIV 27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel NAS 28 in no way alarmed by your opponents -which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God. NIV 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved--and that by God. NAS 29 For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, NIV 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, NAS 30 experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me. NIV 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
