Proverbs 10

CSB 1 Solomon's proverbs: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son, heartache to his mother. NIV 1 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother. CSB 2 Ill-gotten gains do not profit anyone, but righteousness rescues from death. NIV 2 Ill-gotten treasures are of no value, but righteousness delivers from death. CSB 3 The Lord will not let the righteous go hungry, but He denies the wicked what they crave. NIV 3 The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked. CSB 4 Idle hands make one poor, but diligent hands bring riches. NIV 4 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. CSB 5 The son who gathers during summer is prudent; the son who sleeps during harvest is disgraceful. NIV 5 He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son. CSB 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. NIV 6 Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. NIV 22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. CSB 23 As shameful conduct is pleasure for a fool, so wisdom is for a man of understanding. NIV 29 The way of the LORD is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. CSB 30 The righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked will not remain on the earth. NIV 30 The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land. CSB 31 The mouth of the righteous produces wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out. NIV 31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out. CSB 32 The lips of the righteous know what is appropriate, but the mouth of the wicked, [only] what is perverse.
