CEB 1 A sensitive answer turns back wrath, but an offensive word stirs up anger. NIV 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. CEB 2 The tongue of the wise enhances knowledge, but the mouth of a fool gushes with stupidity. NIV 2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
