Proverbs 24:1-11

NRS 1 Do not envy the wicked, nor desire to be with them; NIV 1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company; NRS 2 for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief. NIV 2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble. NRS 3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; NIV 3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; NRS 4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. NIV 4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. NRS 5 Wise warriors are mightier than strong ones, and those who have knowledge than those who have strength; NIV 5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; NRS 6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. NIV 6 for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers. NRS 7 Wisdom is too high for fools; in the gate they do not open their mouths. NIV 7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say. NRS 8 Whoever plans to do evil will be called a mischief-maker. NIV 8 He who plots evil will be known as a schemer. NRS 9 The devising of folly is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to all. NIV 9 The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker. NRS 10 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength being small; NIV 10 If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength! NRS 11 if you hold back from rescuing those taken away to death, those who go staggering to the slaughter; NIV 11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
