Proverbs 6:24-29

RSV 24 to preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adventuress. NIV 24 keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife. RSV 25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes; NIV 25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes, RSV 26 for a harlot may be hired for a loaf of bread, but an adulteress stalks a man's very life. NIV 26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life. RSV 27 Can a man carry fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned?
