Psalm 116

NIV 1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. NRS 1 I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. NIV 2 Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. NRS 2 Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. NIV 3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. NRS 3 The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. NIV 4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: “LORD, save me!” NRS 4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: "O Lord, I pray, save my life!" NIV 5 The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. NRS 5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful. NIV 6 The LORD protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. NRS 6 The Lord protects the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. NIV 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. NRS 16 O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the child of your serving girl. You have loosed my bonds. NIV 17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. NRS 17 I will offer to you a thanksgiving sacrifice and call on the name of the Lord. NIV 18 I will fulfill my vows to the LORDin the presence of all his people, NRS 18 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, NIV 19 in the courts of the house of the LORD— in your midst, Jerusalem.
