Psalm 101

CEB 1 Oh, let me sing about faithful love and justice! I want to sing my praises to you, LORD! NIV 1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will sing praise. CEB 2 I want to study the way of integrity— how long before it gets here? I will walk with a heart of integrity in my own house. NIV 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart. CEB 3 I won't set my eyes on anything worthless. I hate wrongdoing; none of that will stick to me. NIV 3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me. CEB 4 A corrupt heart will be far from me. I won't be familiar with evil. NIV 4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with evil. CEB 5 I will destroy anyone who secretly tells lies about a neighbor. I can't stomach anyone who has proud eyes or an arrogant heart. NIV 5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, him will I put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, him will I not endure. CEB 6 My eyes focus on those who are faithful in the land, to have them close to me. The person who walks without blame will work for me. NIV 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. CEB 7 But the person who acts deceitfully won't stay in my house. The person who tells lies won't last for long before me. NIV 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. CEB 8 Every morning I will destroy all those who are wicked in the land in order to eliminate all evildoers from the LORD's city. NIV 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
