Psalm 118

CSB 1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. NIV 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. CSB 2 Let Israel say, "His faithful love endures forever." NIV 2 Let Israel say: "His love endures forever." CSB 3 Let the house of Aaron say, "His faithful love endures forever." NIV 3 Let the house of Aaron say: "His love endures forever." CSB 4 Let those who fear the Lord say, "His faithful love endures forever." NIV 4 Let those who fear the LORD say: "His love endures forever." CSB 5 I called to the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me [and put me] in a spacious place. NIV 5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free. CSB 6 The Lord is for me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? NIV 6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? CSB 7 With the Lord for me as my helper, I will look in triumph on those who hate me. NIV 7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies. CSB 8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. NIV 8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. CSB 9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in nobles. NIV 9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. CSB 10 All the nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. NIV 10 All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off. CSB 11 They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. NIV 11 They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off. CSB 12 They surrounded me like bees; they were extinguished like a fire among thorns; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. NIV 12 They swarmed around me like bees, but they died out as quickly as burning thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off. CSB 13 You pushed me hard to make me fall, but the Lord helped me. NIV 13 I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. CSB 14 The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. NIV 14 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. CSB 15 There are shouts of joy and victory in the tents of the righteous: "The Lord's right hand strikes with power! NIV 15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The LORD's right hand has done mighty things! CSB 16 The Lord's right hand is raised! The Lord's right hand strikes with power!" NIV 16 The LORD's right hand is lifted high; the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!" CSB 17 I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the Lord has done. NIV 17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. CSB 18 The Lord disciplined me severely but did not give me over to death. NIV 18 The LORD has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death. CSB 19 Open the gates of righteousness for me; I will enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. NIV 19 Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. CSB 20 This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous will enter through it. NIV 20 This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. CSB 21 I will give thanks to You because You have answered me and have become my salvation. NIV 21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. CSB 22 The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. NIV 22 The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; CSB 23 This came from the Lord; it is wonderful in our eyes. NIV 23 the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. CSB 24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. NIV 24 This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. CSB 25 Lord, save us! Lord, please grant us success! NIV 25 O LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success. CSB 27 The Lord is God and has given us light. Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. NIV 27 The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar. CSB 28 You are my God, and I will give You thanks. [You are] my God; I will exalt You.
