Psalm 119

LEB 1 Blessed [are those whose] way is blameless, who walk in the law of Yahweh. NIV 1 Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. LEB 2 Blessed [are] those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart. NIV 2 Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. LEB 3 They also do no wrong; they walk in his ways. NIV 3 They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. LEB 4 You have commanded your precepts, that [we] should keep [them] diligently. NIV 4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. LEB 5 Oh that my ways were steadfast, to keep your statutes! NIV 5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! LEB 6 Then I would not be ashamed when I look to all your commands. NIV 6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands. LEB 7 I will give you thanks with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous laws. NIV 7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. LEB 8 I will heed your statutes; do not utterly forsake me. NIV 8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me. LEB 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed according to your word. NIV 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. LEB 10 With my whole heart I have sought you; do not let me stray from your commands. NIV 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. NIV 14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. LEB 15 I will meditate on your precepts and look at your ways. NIV 15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. LEB 16 I will take delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. NIV 16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. LEB 17 Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and heed your word. NIV 17 Do good to your servant, and I will live; I will obey your word. LEB 18 Uncover my eyes, that I may look at wonderful things from your law. NIV 18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. LEB 19 I [am] a sojourner on the earth; do not hide your commands from me. NIV 19 I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me. LEB 20 My soul is crushed with longing for your ordinances at all times. NIV 20 My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times. LEB 21 You rebuke [the] arrogant, [the] accursed, who stray from your commands. NIV 21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands. LEB 22 {Remove from} me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies. NIV 22 Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes. LEB 23 Even [though] princes sit [and] speak against me, your servant meditates on your statutes. NIV 23 Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees. LEB 24 Your testimonies [are] my delight, {my counselors}. NIV 24 Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. LEB 25 My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word. NIV 25 I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word. LEB 26 I told of my ways, and you answered me; teach me your statutes. NIV 26 I recounted my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees. LEB 27 Make me understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful things. NIV 27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders. LEB 28 My soul weeps because of grief; strengthen me according to your word. NIV 28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. LEB 29 Remove from me [the] deceptive way, and graciously give me your law. NIV 29 Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law. LEB 30 I have chosen [the] faithful way; I have set your ordinances [before me]. NIV 30 I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws. LEB 31 I cling to your testimonies; O Yahweh, do not let me be put to shame. NIV 31 I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD; do not let me be put to shame. LEB 32 I will run the way of your commands, for you will enlarge my heart. NIV 32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free. LEB 33 Teach me, O Yahweh, the way of your statutes, and I will keep it to the end. NIV 33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end. LEB 34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and heed it with [my] whole heart. NIV 34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. LEB 35 Cause me to walk in the path of your commands, for I delight in it. NIV 35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. LEB 36 Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to [dishonest] gain. NIV 36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. LEB 37 Turn away my eyes from looking at [what is] worthless; revive me in your ways. NIV 37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. LEB 38 Fulfill your word to your servant, which [is] to [bring about] a reverence for you. NIV 38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. LEB 39 Turn away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances [are] good. NIV 39 Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. LEB 40 Look, I have longed for your precepts; revive me in your righteousness. NIV 40 How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness. LEB 41 Let your acts of loyal love also come to me, O Yahweh, your salvation according to your word. NIV 41 May your unfailing love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise; LEB 42 Then I will have an answer [for the] one who taunts me, for I trust your word. NIV 42 then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word. LEB 43 And do not snatch [the] word of truth utterly from my mouth, for I hope in your ordinances. NIV 43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. LEB 44 So I will heed your law continually, forever and ever. NIV 44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. LEB 45 And I will go about {freely}, for I have sought your precepts. NIV 45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. LEB 46 And I will speak of your testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed. NIV 46 I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame, LEB 47 And I will take delight in your commands, which I love. NIV 47 for I delight in your commands because I love them. LEB 48 And I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. NIV 53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law. LEB 54 Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning. NIV 54 Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge. LEB 55 I remember your name in the night, O Yahweh, and I heed your law. NIV 55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD, and I will keep your law. LEB 56 This has been mine, that I have kept your precepts. NIV 56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts. LEB 57 Yahweh [is] my portion; I intend to heed your words. NIV 57 You are my portion, O LORD; I have promised to obey your words. LEB 58 I {seek your favor} with my whole heart; be gracious [to] me according to your word. NIV 58 I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. LEB 59 I think about my ways, and turn my feet to your testimonies. NIV 59 I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes. LEB 60 I hurry and do not delay to heed your commands. NIV 60 I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands. LEB 61 [The] cords of [the] wicked surround me, [but] I do not forget your law. NIV 61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law. LEB 62 [In the] middle of [the] night I rise to give you thanks, because of your righteous ordinances. NIV 62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws. LEB 63 I [am] a companion of all [who] fear you and heed your precepts. NIV 63 I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts. LEB 64 The earth, O Yahweh, is full of your loyal love. Teach me your statutes. NIV 64 The earth is filled with your love, O LORD; teach me your decrees. LEB 65 You have dealt well with your servant, O Yahweh, according to your word. NIV 65 Do good to your servant according to your word, O LORD. LEB 66 Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe your commands. NIV 66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands. LEB 67 Before I was afflicted, I was going astray, but now I heed your word. NIV 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. LEB 68 You [are] good and do good; teach me your statutes. NIV 68 You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees. LEB 69 [The] arrogant smear me with lies; I keep your precepts with [my] whole heart. NIV 69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart. LEB 70 Their heart [is] insensitive like fat; As for me, I take delight in your law. NIV 70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law. LEB 71 [It is] good for me that I was afflicted, so that I might learn your statutes. NIV 71 It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. LEB 72 The law of your mouth [is] better to me than thousands of gold and silver [coins]. NIV 72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold. LEB 73 Your hands have made me and established me; give me understanding that I may learn your commands. NIV 73 Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. LEB 74 Those who fear you will see me and be glad, because I hope in your word. NIV 74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word. LEB 75 I know, O Yahweh, that your judgments [are] right, and [that] in faithfulness you afflicted me. NIV 75 I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me. LEB 76 Please let your loyal love comfort me, according to your word to your servant. NIV 76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. LEB 77 Let your mercies come [to] me, that I may live, for your law [is] my delight. NIV 77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. LEB 78 Let the arrogant be put to shame, because they have wronged me [with] lies. As for me, I will meditate on your precepts. NIV 78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts. LEB 79 Let those who fear you turn to me, even those who know your testimonies. NIV 79 May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes. LEB 80 May my heart be blameless in your statutes, so that I may not be ashamed. NIV 80 May my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be put to shame. LEB 81 My soul languishes for your salvation; I hope in your word. NIV 81 My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. LEB 82 My eyes long for your word, saying, "When will you comfort me?" NIV 82 My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, "When will you comfort me?" LEB 83 For I have become like a wineskin in [the] smoke, [yet] I have not forgotten your statutes. NIV 83 Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your decrees. LEB 84 How many [are] the days of your servant? When will you execute justice against those who persecute me? NIV 84 How long must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors? LEB 85 [The] arrogant have dug pits for me, which [is] not according to your law. NIV 85 The arrogant dig pitfalls for me, contrary to your law. LEB 86 All your commands [are] faithful. They persecute me deceitfully; help me! NIV 86 All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for men persecute me without cause. LEB 87 They have almost destroyed me on the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. NIV 87 They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. LEB 88 According to your loyal love preserve me alive, so that I may heed the testimony from your mouth. NIV 88 Preserve my life according to your love, and I will obey the statutes of your mouth. LEB 89 Forever, O Yahweh, your word {is settled} in heaven. NIV 89 Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. LEB 90 Your faithfulness [endures] {throughout all generations}. You have established [the] earth and it stands. NIV 90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. LEB 91 By your ordinances they stand today, for all [are] your servants. NIV 91 Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you. LEB 92 Unless your law [had been] my delight, then I would have perished in my misery. NIV 92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. LEB 93 I will not ever forget your precepts, for by them you revive me. NIV 93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life. LEB 94 I [am] yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts. NIV 96 To all perfection I see a limit; but your commands are boundless. LEB 97 How I love your law! The whole day it [is] my meditation. NIV 97 Oh, how I love your law! NIV 139 My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. LEB 140 Your word [is] very pure, and your servant loves it. NIV 140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them. LEB 141 I [am] small and despised, [yet] I do not forget your precepts. NIV 150 Those who devise wicked schemes are near, but they are far from your law. LEB 151 You [are] near, O Yahweh, and all your commands [are] truth. NIV 151 Yet you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true. LEB 152 Concerning your testimonies, I knew long ago that you have established them forever. NIV 152 Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever. LEB 153 See my misery and rescue me, for I do not forget your law. NIV 153 Look upon my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten your law. LEB 154 Plead my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your word.
