CSB 1 In my distress I called to the Lord, and He answered me: NIV 1 I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. CSB 2 "Lord, deliver me from lying lips and a deceitful tongue." NIV 2 Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. CSB 3 What will He give you, and what will He do to you, you deceitful tongue? NIV 3 What will he do to you, and what more besides, O deceitful tongue? CSB 4 A warrior's sharp arrows, with burning charcoal! NIV 4 He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom tree. CSB 5 What misery that I have stayed in Meshech, that I have lived among the tents of Kedar! NIV 5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! CSB 6 I have lived too long with those who hate peace. NIV 6 Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. CSB 7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war. NIV 7 I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
