Psalm 120

NLT 1 I took my troubles to the LORD ; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. NIV 1 I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. NLT 2 Rescue me, O LORD , from liars and from all deceitful people. NIV 2 Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. NLT 3 O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment? NIV 3 What will he do to you, and what more besides, O deceitful tongue? NLT 4 You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals. NIV 4 He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom tree. NLT 5 How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar. NIV 5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! NLT 6 I am tired of living among people who hate peace. NIV 6 Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. NLT 7 I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war! NIV 7 I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
