Psalm 130

MSG 1 Help, God - the bottom has fallen out of my life! Master, hear my cry for help! NIV 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; MSG 2 Listen hard! Open your ears! Listen to my cries for mercy. NIV 2 O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. MSG 3 If you, God, kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? NIV 3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? MSG 4 As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that's why you're worshiped. NIV 4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. MSG 5 I pray to God - my life a prayer - and wait for what he'll say and do. NIV 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. MSG 6 My life's on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning. NIV 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. MSG 7 O Israel, wait and watch for God - with God's arrival comes love, with God's arrival comes generous redemption. NIV 7 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. MSG 8 No doubt about it - he'll redeem Israel, buy back Israel from captivity to sin. NIV 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
