Psalm 14

TMB 1 <<To the chief musician: A Psalm of David.>> The fool hath said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt; they have done abominable works; there is none that doeth good. NIV 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. TMB 2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand and seek God. NIV 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. TMB 3 They have all turned aside; they are all together become filthy. There is none that doeth good; no, not one. NIV 3 All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. TMB 4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread and call not upon the LORD? NIV 4 Will evildoers never learn-- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD? TMB 5 There were they in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous. NIV 5 There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. TMB 6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge. NIV 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge. TMB 7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When the LORD bringeth back His people from captivity, Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad. NIV 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
