Psalm 142

GNT 1 I call to the Lord for help; I plead with him. NIV 1 I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. GNT 2 I bring him all my complaints; I tell him all my troubles. NIV 2 I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble. GNT 3 When I am ready to give up, he knows what I should do. In the path where I walk, my enemies have hidden a trap for me. NIV 3 When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. In the path where I walk men have hidden a snare for me. GNT 4 When I look beside me, I see that there is no one to help me, no one to protect me. No one cares for me. NIV 4 Look to my right and see; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life. GNT 5 Lord, I cry to you for help; you, Lord, are my protector; you are all I want in this life. NIV 5 I cry to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." GNT 6 Listen to my cry for help, for I am sunk in despair. Save me from my enemies; they are too strong for me. NIV 6 Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. GNT 7 Set me free from my distress; then in the assembly of your people I will praise you because of your goodness to me. NIV 7 Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.
