CSB 1 May the Lord my rock be praised, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare. NIV 1 Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. CSB 2 He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him; He subdues my people under me. NIV 2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. CSB 3 Lord, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him? NIV 3 O LORD, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him? CSB 4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. NIV 4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow. CSB 5 Lord, part Your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. NIV 5 Part your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke. CSB 6 Flash [Your] lightning and scatter the foe; shoot Your arrows and rout them. NIV 6 Send forth lightning and scatter [the enemies]; shoot your arrows and rout them. CSB 7 Reach down from on high; rescue me from deep water, and set me free from the grasp of foreigners NIV 7 Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners CSB 8 whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. NIV 8 whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful. CSB 9 God, I will sing a new song to You; I will play on a ten-stringed harp for You- NIV 9 I will sing a new song to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you, CSB 10 the One who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword. NIV 10 to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers his servant David from the deadly sword. CSB 11 Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. NIV 11 Deliver me and rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful. CSB 12 Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style. NIV 12 Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace. CSB 13 Our storehouses will be full, supplying all kinds of produce; our flocks will increase by thousands and tens of thousands in our open fields. NIV 13 Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields; CSB 14 Our cattle will be well fed. There will be no breach [in the walls], no going [into captivity], and no cry of lament in our public squares. NIV 14 our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets. CSB 15 Happy are the people with such [blessings]. Happy are the people whose God is the Lord. NIV 15 Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.
