Psalm 146

WBT 1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. WBT 2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises to my God while I have any being. NIV 2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. WBT 3 Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help. NIV 3 Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. WBT 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. NIV 4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. WBT 5 Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God: NIV 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, WBT 6 Who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them: who keepeth truth for ever: NIV 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them-- the LORD, who remains faithful forever. WBT 7 Who executeth judgment for the oppressed: who giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: NIV 7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, WBT 8 The LORD openeth [the eyes of] the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: NIV 8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. WBT 9 The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. NIV 9 The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. WBT 10 The LORD will reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise ye the LORD. NIV 10 The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
