Psalm 149

DBY 1 Hallelujah! Sing unto Jehovah a new song; [sing] his praise in the congregation of the godly. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. DBY 2 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King. NIV 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. DBY 3 Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing psalms unto him with the tambour and harp. NIV 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. DBY 4 For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people; he beautifieth the meek with salvation. NIV 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. DBY 5 Let the godly exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their beds. NIV 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. DBY 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand: NIV 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, DBY 7 To execute vengeance against the nations, [and] punishment among the peoples; NIV 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, DBY 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; NIV 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, DBY 9 To execute upon them the judgment written. This honour have all his saints. Hallelujah! NIV 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
