Psalm 149

LEB 1 Praise Yah. Sing to Yahweh a new song, his praise in [the] assembly of [the] faithful. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. LEB 2 Let Israel be glad in its maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their king. NIV 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. LEB 3 Let them praise his name with dancing; let them sing praises to him with tambourine and lyre. NIV 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. LEB 4 For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people; he glorifies [the] afflicted with salvation. NIV 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. LEB 5 Let [the] faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds. NIV 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. LEB 6 Let the extolling of God [be] in their throat, and a double-edged sword in their hand, NIV 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, LEB 7 to execute vengeance on the nations [and] punishment on [the] peoples, NIV 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, LEB 8 to bind their kings with chains and their {nobles} with fetters of iron, NIV 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, LEB 9 to execute on them [the] judgment that is decreed. This [will be] honor for all his faithful ones; Praise Yah. NIV 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
