MSG 1 Hallelujah! Sing to God a brand-new song, praise him in the company of all who love him. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. MSG 2 Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator, Zion's children exult in their King. NIV 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. MSG 3 Let them praise his name in dance; strike up the band and make great music! NIV 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. MSG 4 And why? Because God delights in his people, festoons plain folk with salvation garlands! NIV 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. MSG 5 Let true lovers break out in praise, sing out from wherever they're sitting, NIV 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. MSG 6 Shout the high praises of God, brandish their swords in the wild sword-dance - NIV 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, MSG 7 A portent of vengeance on the God-defying nations, a signal that punishment's coming, NIV 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, MSG 8 Their kings chained and hauled off to jail, their leaders behind bars for good, NIV 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, MSG 9 The judgment on them carried out to the letter - and all who love God in the seat of honor! Hallelujah! NIV 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
