Psalm 149

WBT 1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, [and] his praise in the congregation of saints. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. WBT 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. NIV 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. WBT 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises to him with the timbrel and harp: NIV 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. WBT 4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. NIV 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. WBT 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. NIV 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. WBT 6 [Let] the high [praises] of God [be] in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; NIV 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, WBT 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, [and] punishments upon the people; NIV 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, WBT 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; NIV 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, WBT 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD. NIV 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
