Psalm 16

LEB 1 Protect me, O God, for I take refuge in you. NIV 1 Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. LEB 2 [Oh my soul] you have said to Yahweh, "You [are] my Lord. I have no good apart from you." NIV 2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." LEB 3 With regard to [the] saints who [are] in the land, they [are the] noble ones in [whom is] all my desire. NIV 3 As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight. LEB 4 Those [who] hurry [after] another [god] increase their sorrows. I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, nor take up their names on my lips. NIV 4 The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips. LEB 5 Yahweh [is] the portion [which is] my share and my cup. You hold my lot. NIV 5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. LEB 6 [The] measuring lines have fallen for me in pleasant places. Yes, [my] inheritance is delightful for me. NIV 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. LEB 7 I will bless Yahweh who advises me; yes, [at] night my {innermost being} instructs me. NIV 7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. LEB 8 I have set Yahweh before me always. Because [he is] at my right hand I will not be shaken. NIV 8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. LEB 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices. Yes, my body will dwell in safety, NIV 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, LEB 10 for you will not abandon my soul to Sheol; you will not give your faithful one to see [the] grave. NIV 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. LEB 11 You will make known to me [the] path of life. In your presence [is] fullness of joy. At your right hand [are] pleasures forever. NIV 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
