WEB 1 <<For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.>> The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. WEB 2 Day after day they pour forth speech, And night after night they display knowledge. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. WEB 3 There is no speech nor language, Where their voice is not heard. NIV 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. WEB 4 Their voice has gone out through all the earth, Their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, NIV 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, WEB 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, Like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. NIV 5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. WEB 6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens, His circuit to the ends of it; There is nothing hid from the heat of it. NIV 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. WEB 7 The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Yahweh is sure, making wise the simple. NIV 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. WEB 8 The precepts of Yahweh are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. WEB 9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever. The ordinances of Yahweh are true, and righteous altogether. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. WEB 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. WEB 11 Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward. NIV 11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. WEB 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors. NIV 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. WEB 13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright, I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. WEB 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. NIV 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
